Xross-Bar Lock Folding Knives
Strongest Lock: The Patent Pending, Xross-Bar Lock dual locking series has the potential of being the strongest and safest locking system ever designed for a folding knife.
More Stability: This lock allows for an extended tang on the Cross Bar Lock folder and gives the blade both more lateral stability and the lock tremendous leverage with lock up.
Dual Locking: It has some similarities with a liner lock in that the liner or handle is sprung laterally in order to secure lock up, but the similarity ends there. This system actually has a redundant lock in that the lock up occurs with engagement with the blade tang and becomes even more secure when the lock swings into the far liner or handle for a Fort Knox like bar lock.
Solid footing for all screws: Incorporated into the design are no week points due to the threading of thin materials resulting in stripped threads. In fact, only one part of the knife, the spacer bar, is threaded and allows for each screw to a full purchase of enough threads for a very secure knife with good integrity. Even the pocket clip is secured to the same bar from either side of the knife.
New Powder Metallurgy Steel: The first run of the Side Kick Xross-Bar Lock folders are Crucibles new CPM 154 CM high carbon, chrome, Moly steel. This is a much improved steel over the older version of 154 CM steel that prevailed for so many years as the premiere steel for many knife makers such as Bob Loveless.
Titanium Liners: Titanium and carbon fiber are offered in the first run of 20 only of the Side Kick and make for a very strong and a very light weight knife. Different materials will be offered as a numbered series and/or as one of a kind.
All titanium parts will be anodized for that extra appeal.
